Club Notes. 15-3-2017

Portlaw Workshop on Photoshop .
A total of 24 members attended ,our thanks to  our members who acted as tutors ,not forgetting Margaret for the cakes and the education committee who organised same .

Many members have asked for a follow up before the summer break so April 11th is the next Photoshop Class.

Trip To Dublin
Members enjoyed our trip to Dublin last Saturday
Our Sincere Thanks to Aaron who despite all the problems with parking made the trip so enjoyable.
Looking forward to seeing some of the images taken on the day.

As Secretary of Waterford Camera Club I would like to invite you and members of Carrick Camera Club to attend  Our meeting on Monday, March 27th starting at 8.00 pm.  We have officially moved to the Waterford Teachers' Centre but for the the meeting on March 27th, our meeting will be

In our old home of The Tower Hotel (Dunmore Room) the end of the Quay. 

 

We also invite your club to impress us with a selection of your finest images. I would appreciate if you could contact me nearer the date with a rough idea of how many club members will travel.

 

We hope you will join us post meeting in the bar for a libation or coffee etc.

 

We look forward to your visit and hopefully it will be the first of many.

 

I would hope that as many as possible would travel on that date.

Club News ,Members Meeting  7-3-2017.

Members of the Clonmel Camera club paid a welcome visit to our meeting. They treated us to a number of slide shows  and a selection of images. We are looking forward to a return visit.

The club congratulated our THREE prize winners  in the I.P.F. National Nature Finals held in Drogheda

GOLD medal for Pat Power with "Tree Fungus" in Projected Open -Non-advanced.
1st for John O'Neill with "Common Puffball" in Print theme- Advanced.
1st for Michael Moore with "Red Fox Vixen" in Projected Open- Non-advanced.

POTY competition winners Theme “Bottles”.
Beginners- Louise Walsh,
Intermediate-Harry Littlewood,
Advanced Tony Fitzgerald and Frank Cullinane.

Theme for next meeting “Boots” also print competition for “Winter”  (Winter Scene)size of print 7x5 up to A4.

Workshop in Portlaw Tuesday 14th March for Photoshop at 8pm.

Outings
Anne Howard  re her invation to us to go to  Inis Meain for a photo shoot. On the 5th-12th May
There will be ferry costs  €25 (€20oap) and B&B costs at approx €40 to €50 PER PERSON PER NIGHT .

NB the meeting for March 21 st has been brought forward to Monday 20th due to the hotel not being available  on the 21st.

 

Camera Club News 22-2-2017

Welcome back to our secretary Norman after his holidays in Australia and New Zealand.

Waterford Camera Club members paid a welcome visit to our club meeting and we are looking forward to a return visit.
22 members took part in a very enjoyable night shoot in St.Patricks Well recently .

28 club members attended the Macro workshop in Portlaw our thanks to the members who set up the various exhibits,thanks to Margaret for the buns and Louise for the sweets.

At the members meeting on the 21st February the winners of the POTY competition for the theme “Faceless Portrait” were Beginner Louise Walsh, Intermediate Patsy Choi and Advanced F. Cullinane.

Membership. As from today Club e-mails and texts will be only sent to all the current paid up members.
